No Regular Club Meeting in June or July

Hello everyone,

MAARC will be suspending the next two regularly scheduled monthly club meetings.  Specifically:

Monday June 24, 2013 • Monday July 22, 2013

ARE CANCELLED

I regret the short notice-- we intended to hold the June 24th meeting-- but with all the Field Day work and a couple scheduling conflicts it's too much to pull off.  The officers will meet sometime soon to handle any immediate business, but anything that can wait for August will get set aside.

Regarding July 22nd, there is a conflict with our normal meeting room at the Maring-Hunt library that we can't get around.  So... and this is tentative... why not have a BBQ Picnic ?

Once we get through Field Day, I will set some time aside and try to put together an informal fun picnic for anyone who cares to come out and play.  If you have comments or suggestions, please post them below !  We'll keep everyone informed both here and on our Sunday Night Net.

The next regular meeting will be on Monday August 26th at the Maring-Hunt library and we will have a guest speaker !  Mr. Frank Dick, WA9JWL of Anderson will join us with a presentation and live demo of D-STAR.  If you have any interest or questions about one of our newest available modes, plan on being there !  I'd like to thank our club Secretary Jeff Neal, KA9HIJ for arranging to have Mr. Dick visit us.


That's all the news for now, everyone have a great weekend and enjoy Field Day 2013.  If you don't have plans, come join MAARC and DARA out at the Monroe Township Conservation Club for a fantastic Field Day operation-- we've got plenty of room for more operators-- licensed or not-- and of course... great food and air conditioning.  See you there !
